Ambassadors for Christ Church was founded on 11 August 2013 as a non-denominational, independent church in Mae Sot, Thailand.
What began as a small group of believers meeting together has grown into a church family that gathers twice every Sunday, meets in homes on Tuesdays, and prays together on Fridays. We worship in Burmese, serving the Myanmar community that has made Mae Sot its home.
Mae Sot sits on the Thai–Myanmar border. Many people arrive here from Myanmar looking for work, education, healthcare or safety — often far from family, and starting again with very little.
AFC Church exists to walk alongside this community: to welcome people as they are, to introduce them to Christ, and to be a church family for those who are far from home.
To reach the Myanmar community of Mae Sot with the love of Christ — welcoming people as they are, making disciples, and gathering believers into a church family.
To see lives transformed by the Gospel on the Thai–Myanmar border, and a church where every person finds hope, healing and a home in Christ.
Our full statement of faith is being prepared by our church leadership and will be published here once it has been confirmed. In the meantime, if you have questions about what AFC Church teaches, please ask us — we are glad to talk.
“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”
AFC Church is led by Pastor Saw T. James, together with the leaders who serve our ministries.
Pastor James leads our Sunday services, oversees the ministries of the church, and personally coordinates the free Sunday transportation.
If you would like to speak with him — about visiting, about faith, or about anything at all — you are welcome to call or message directly.
